RACE BIB & SWAG PICKUP:
Thursday, June 1: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM – Goodwin University, East Hartford, CT 06118. (Near the intersection of Riverside Drive & Ensign Street)
Race Day: 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM – Simsbury Performing Arts Center, 22 Iron Horse Blvd, Simsbury, CT 06070.

Download or print your own unique Check-in Pass before you get in line by logging into your haku participant account. The pass can be downloaded and saved in your phone images or Apple Wallet, or printed out. 
Then visit the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent to get your race bib. Your short sleeve technical race shirt will be available for pick up at the SWAG tent before the event.

BAGGAGE CHECK:

Complimentary baggage check will be available for registered participants in the Pre/Post Race area. All checked bags must be picked up by 10:45 AM.
PARKING / DIRECTIONS:
Pre/post race activities will take place at the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center (PAC). All races will start and finish on the adjacent roadway, Iron Horse Boulevard. 

Parking is available all day in the municipal parking lots along Iron Horse Boulevard. Plan to arrive at least 60 minutes early – Iron Horse Boulevard will be shut to traffic at 6:45 AM. After 6:45 AM, access to the parking lots must be made from Rte. 10.

GIVE BACK:
Please add nonperishable food donations to your race day gear and drop it in the HMF Can tent to support the Hartford High School “Grub Pub”, part of the Stop & Shop School Food Pantry Program. RACE STARTS:
10K: 7:15 AM start
The 10K will start on the east side of the median on Iron Horse Boulevard, near the intersection with Jim Gallagher Way and consist of one corral.

Half Marathon: 7:30 AM start
The Half Marathon will start on the west side of the median on Iron Horse Boulevard, near the entrance to the Simsbury Performing Arts Center and adjacent to the finish line. It will then merge with the 5K race about ¼ mile in and both races will run together for roughly 2 miles.

The race start will consist of one corral with “Self Seed” pace per mile signs to assist with participant spacing. Timing mats located at the start will capture your net time.

Course limit is 3 hours for the Half Marathon. To finish within these time limits participants must maintain a pace of approximately 13:44 minutes per mile. Half Marathon runners must pass the checkpoint at the 8.2 mile mark within 1 hour and 55 minutes. Runners over this time will be directed to withdraw or run unsupported.

5K: 7:30 AM start
The 5K will start on the east side of the median on Iron Horse Boulevard, near the intersection with Wilcox Street, and consist of one corral. It will merge with the half marathon race about ¼ mile in and both races will run together for roughly 2 miles.

RACE COURSE & SUPPORT:
Police and course monitors will be on the course. However, the roads are open to local vehicle travel.
  • Turns will be marked with yellow signs with blue arrows 
  • All mile points are marked on the road and with signs 
  • Clocks & timing mats are located at finish line and along the course
  • Hydration Stations: 
    • Half Marathon and 10K - Pre/Post Race & every 1 to 2 miles along the course
    • 5K - Pre/Post Race & Mile 1.7 
  • Medical stations are located at the start/finish line and on course 
  • On course entertainment provided
  • Portalets are located at Pre/Post Race & along the course

Please do not litter on the beautiful course!

 
HMF Pacers
PACE TEAMS:
A free service available to all half marathon participants, the ProHealth Physicians Pace Teams are available for 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45 and 3:00 goal finish times. 
7:25 AM: Pace Leaders will move into the starting area. They will line up according to pace on the right side (facing the start) of the start corral. They will be wearing bright blue PACE shirts and be holding their pace group sign. DETAILS
 
POST RACE: 
7:45 AM – 10:45 AM, Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center
Celebrate your amazing accomplishments together with music, delicious food from Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ served up fresh, grab & go snacks featuring Bakery On Main granola, LesserEvil popcorn, and ice cold Sea Hag IPA and Elm City Pilsner from New England Brewing Co. (must be 21+ with proper ID to receive complimentary beer).

Spectators can also get in on the post-race fun! Bears Food Truck will be on site and beer will be available for purchase.
 

8:30 AM: 5K and 10K Award Ceremony
9:00 AM: Beer Tent Opens
9:45 AM: Half Marathon Award Ceremony

FinisherPix is the official on-course photographer, personal race photos will be available to view and order 24-48 hours after the race. Save money by pre-ordering photos in your haku participant account. Make sure your bib number is facing front at all times and don’t forget to smile! GALLERY

TIMING / RESULTS / AWARDS:
This event is timed by Bay State Race Services and uses the B-Tag timing system (timing chip is attached to the back of the race bib). Please wear the race bib on the front of the shirt. All times are based on NET time (timing mats located at the start and finish).

Preliminary results will be available onsite. Final results will be posted later in the day. RESULTS

ATHLETE TRACKING:
Athletes & spectators can get real-time athlete updates with course time and pace from the start, 5K split, 8 mile split (Half Marathon only) and finish line. Sign up for tracking HERE
 
HMF FITKIDS:
Online registration is available through race morning. On-site kids' race registration and bib pickup at the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent. Kids aged 2-11 can run ¼ mile, ½ mile or one mile races, all kids races are $12. All participants receive a finisher’s medal and custom race swag. Kids races start and finish on the soccer fields inside the Simsbury Performing Arts Center.

RACE CHALLENGES:
Finishers of the Bunch of 10Ks challenge should pick up their medal at the Awards tent after their race. Participants in the half marathon are eligible to participate in the Connecticut Double, a challenge to finish 26.2 at the Eversource Hartford Marathon on October 14.  Finishers of the 5K are eligible to join the Progressive Challenge, with support to complete the Old Wethersfield 10K in August and Eversource Hartford Half Marathon in October.
