TRANSITION TIPS:

BEFORE THE RACE – SATURDAY, JUNE 10

Here are a few key tips to keep in mind when setting up your Transition area at Marina Green:

  • You will have the opportunity to rack your bike on Saturday, June 10 from 11:00am-3:30pm.
  • After completing the athlete packet pick-up process, you can enter the Transition area from the Marina Green (Transition Entry Point) through the area denoted in the map below as "BIKE IN/OUT" - only athletes with a bib number will be allowed in this space.
  • Your bike rack location will be denoted by your bib number. Find the row with your bib number and rack your bike using the nose of your saddle.
  • Look across the street at Marina Blvd and see what house is directly in line with your row as this will help you find your bike quickly on race day. Decorative items such as balloons and streamers are NOT allowed in Transition.
  • THE ONLY ITEM THAT CAN BE LEFT IN TRANSITION ON SATURDAY (June 10) IS YOUR BIKE. You MUST come to Marina Green on Sunday morning to set-up the rest of your Transition before heading to Pier 3.
  • On Sunday morning (June 11), there will be shuttles from Hotel Caza to Marina Green between 4 AM - 5:30 AM, to help athletes get to the Transition.

RACE DAY

Notes for SWIM to BIKE Transition

  • After you make your way from the swim exit, you will run along the bay side of Transition and enter from the east side of the space.

  • If you are part of a relay team, Open Relay or Corporate Escape, you will stop by the relay corral to exchange your timing chip with your teammate.

  • Keep an eye on the house that correlates with the row you racked your bike in. Retrieve your bike and quickly gather all of the items that are needed for the bike leg of the race.

  • After you have everything ready, proceed to the "BIKE OUT" on the west side of the Transition area by walking or jogging your bike until you reach the mount line.

Notes for BIKE to RUN Transition

  • Enter the Transition area again through the same location you exited with your bike.

  • Rack your bike again using the nose of your saddle before grabbing your run gear.

  • If you are on a relay team, you must rack your bike before continuing on to the timing chip exchange location.

  • Once you are ready to proceed onto the run, you will follow the path on the bay side of the Transition area going west.

AFTER THE RACE

  • You will not be able to remove your items (bike, wetsuit, etc.) from Transition before 11am on Sunday. There is a dedicated route through the athlete area to Transition that will be open for you at this time

  • If you are utilizing Unlimited Biking’s services you will return your bike to the Unlimited Biking booth in the Fitness Festival before 2:30pm.

Here's to smooth Transitions!
