Thank you for participating with us this Sunday, March 8, at the Courthouse O'Putnam 5K. Please review important details below on everything needed, from logistics to perks, to make it a great race day.  Don't forget to spring ahead, clocks change on Sunday!

12:30 PM HMF FitKids start
1:00 PM: 5K start

Pick up your event bib at the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent, located at the Putnam municipal parking lot near Canal Street. It will be open from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Speed up your bib pick-up experience - log in to your haku participant account and download or print your own unique Check-in Pass before you get in line. The pass can be saved in your phone images or Apple Wallet. 

Your custom St. Paddy's themed shirt will be available at the Swag tent before or after the event. Please note, there is no baggage check.
There is plenty of parking located throughout downtown Putnam and along the Putnam River Trail. DETAILS
The race will start on Canal Street, adjacent to the commuter parking lot and will consist of one corral with “Self Seed” pace per mile signs to assist with participant spacing.

Police and course monitors will be on the course. However, the roads are open to local vehicle travel.

Markings & Amenities: 

  • Yellow signs with blue arrows mark all turns
  • All mile points are marked on the road and with signs
  • Clocks at finish line and along the course
  • Hydration - Pre/Post Race & Mile 1.5
  • Medical personnel on site
  • Event alert system notifications in the pre-race area and at the water station

Walkers welcome! Course limit is 1 hour and 20 minutes. To finish within these time limits you must maintain a pace of approximately 27 minutes per mile.

1:15 – 2:30 PM: Registered participants can enjoy complimentary corned beef sandwiches from The Courthouse Bar & GrilleGrab & Go snacks featuring Uncle Crumbles Granola and Lesser Evil. Plus, one complimentary Sam Adams beer for those 21+ years of age with proper ID.
Approx. 2:00 PM: Awards ceremony and raffle winner pick-up outside The Courthouse Bar & Grille.

Don't forget the costume contest! The winning costumes (one adult, one child) will be selected at random and announced at race start, prize collection will be at the Awards tent after the race.
Preliminary results are available onsite/online in real time and are based on NET time (timing mats at the start and finish) by Bay State Race Services using the B-Tag timing system. Please wear your race bib with timing chip on the front of your shirt. Final results will be posted later in the day. RESULTS
Custom hoodies and adult/youth tees are available for purchase at the HMF Merchandise tent on race day (credit cards or Apple Pay only, no cash accepted).  Preorders may also be picked up.
Online kids' race registration is available through race morning, with on-site registration and bib pickup at the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent. Kids aged 2-11 can run ¼ mile or ½ mile races, all kids races are $12. All participants receive a finisher's medal and custom knit gloves. 

All HMF FitKids Runs will start and finish on the 5K start line on Canal Street.
Add just one more March O'race to join the Li'l Lucky two-race challenge for the rainbow medal. Or, take on all four in the Lucky Challenge over two weekends and get the medallion medal too. Participants can pick up medal(s) in the Merchandise tent at any O'race.
Join the 2026 HMF Milestone member for rewards and perks! Sign up for free before/on race day and if you have a January, February or March birthday, you can pick up your birthday bonus in the Volunteer tent before the race or Awards tent post-race.
