If you ordered Mail My Packet, your race bib and short sleeve technical race shirt were mailed to you. Only go to the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent with questions or if you did not receive your bib in the mail. 

If you did not order Mail My Packet, pick up your race bib at one of the following locations. To speed up your pickup, download or print your own unique Check-in Pass before you get in line. Sign into your participant account to access your pass. The pass can be downloaded and saved in your phone images or Apple Wallet, or printed out. 
Thursday, September 5: 4:00 to 6:00 PM – Goodwin University Community Room, One Riverside Drive, East Hartford, CT. The Community Room is located to the right side of the entrance to the main building.

Saturday, September 7: 3:00 – 5:00 PM – Grey Sail Brewing, 63 Canal Street, Westerly, RI. Show your bib at the Taproom and receive 10% off your purchase.

Sunday, September 8: 6:00 – 7:00 AM – Misquamicut State Beach, 257 Atlantic Avenue, Westerly, RI.

After you pick up your race bib, your short sleeve technical shirt will be available for pick up at the T-shirt tent. You may only pick up the size selected/available in your race registration. Shirt sizes are limited and exchanges will be available after the event in the HMF Merchandise tent on a first come, first served basis.

Relay Teams: Please designate one relay team member to pick up race packets for the entire group. The team is responsible for distributing bibs to each member and ensuring the runner crossing the finish line is wearing the timing chip.

Please note: No baggage check available on race day.

Pre/post race activities and the start/finish areas will be in and around Wuskenau Town Beach and at the east end of the Misquamicut State Beach, in Westerly. Directions

Arrive early! It is strongly recommended to arrive by 6:30 AM. Atlantic Avenue will close to traffic at 7:00 AM.

HMF provides FREE parking to all athletes at Misquamicut State Beach. Please follow directions of volunteers and signs to access the free parking area. Other parking lots are available that will charge a fee. 5K participants cannot exit Misquamicut State Beach parking area before 9:00 AM.

Both race starts will consist of one corral with “Self Seed” pace per mile signs to assist with participant spacing.

Half Marathon and 2-Person Relay: The start horn will go off at 7:30 AM (10 minutes before the 5K). The Half Marathon will start at the east end of Misquamicut State Beach, on Atlantic Avenue.

Pace Leaders will be at the Half Marathon to help athletes achieve their goal time. There is no fee and anyone can use the Pace Teams service, sponsored by Fleet Feet Hartford. Details

Course limit is 3 hours for the Surftown Half Marathon. To finish within these time limits you must maintain a pace of approximately 13:44 minutes per mile. 

Half Marathon participants can get real-time athlete updates. Athletes or spectators can follow along and receive real-time updates with course time and pace from the start, 8 miles split and at the finish line. Athlete database will be updated on Tuesday, September 3 and Friday, September 6. Sign Up Here

5K: The start horn will go off at 7:40 AM (10 minutes after the Half Marathon). The 5K will start and finish under the Finish Truss on Atlantic Avenue, just east of Misquamicut State Beach.

Police and course monitors will be on the course. However, the roads are open to local vehicle travel. Markings & Amenities: 

  • Yellow signs with blue arrows mark all turns
  • All mile points are marked on the road and with signs
  • Clocks at finish line and along the course
  • 5K Hydration: Pre & Post Race / one location on course (Water only)
  • Half Marathon Hydration: Pre & Post Race / every 1 to 2 miles along the course (Water & UCAN Hydrate). UCAN Edge Energy Gel at Mile 6.2
  • Medical personnel on site
  • Event alert system notifications in the pre-race area and at the water station
  • Live music and entertainment
  • Portalets: Pre/Post Race & along the entire route
Respect the roads and each other, and please do not litter in the gracious community hosting us. 

8:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Misquamicut State Beach, Westerly
Celebrate your amazing accomplishments together with music, delicious Flander’s Fish Market chowder, and Grab & Go snacks featuring Bakery On Main granola and LesserEvil popcorn. Registered participants can also enjoy a complimentary ice-cold beer from Grey Sail Brewing. The Beer Garden is located in the parking lot of Wuskenau Beach, adjacent to the finish line. Must be 21+ years of age with proper ID to receive the complimentary beer.

8:45 AM: 5K Award Ceremony
9:45 AM: Half Marathon Award Ceremony

Preliminary results will be available onsite. This event is timed by Bay State Race Services and uses the B-Tag timing system with timing chip attached to the back of the race bib. Please wear the race bib on the front of the shirt. Half Marathon times are based on NET time (timing mats located at the start and finish). 5K times are based on GUN time. Final results will be posted later in the day. RESULTS
 
Shoreline Challenge participants can pick up their commemorative medal after their event at the Results Tent.
