        TRAINING PLANS & GUIDE

Your guide includes five marathon training plans (Novice, Novice II, Intermediate, Advanced, Run/Walk) geared towards multiple ability levels. Choose your training plan based on your individual goals, experience, current fitness level, and how many times you run per week. The training guide also includes information regarding training paces and different types of workouts that are included in the plans.

If you need help picking your training plan or have any training questions, please feel free to email training@cararuns.org.

        HYDRATION

Hydration stations will serve water and Gatorade Endurance on-course and at the finish of group runs. Hydration may not be available pre-run at some sites.

Runners are encouraged to carry a collapsible cup to refill at hydration stations. This provides you the greatest flexibility for hydration and supports our sustainability efforts to reduce trash. However, cups will be available at all locations, except Darien and Libertyville where Forest Preserve rules do not allow them. There you must bring a bottle, pack, or collapsible cup of your own for refill.
