HMF FitKids start: 10:00 AM

Access to Cove Park will close 15 minutes prior to the 5K/10K race start, all participants must be at the race prior to that time. Registration is still open, bring a friend to run or walk!

RACE BIB & SWAG PICKUP:
7:00 – 8:00 AM, Solomon Welles House, Wethersfield, CT
Speed up your check-in experience. Download or print your own unique Check-in Pass before you get in line by logging into your haku participant account. The pass can be downloaded and saved in your phone images or Apple Wallet, or printed out.
Then visit the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent to get your race bib. Your custom short sleeve shirt can be picked up at the SWAG tent.

Late registration will be available at Registration & Bib Pick-up, payment by credit card or Apple Pay. Cash will not be accepted at HMF Registration.
PARKING / DIRECTIONS:
Pre/post race activities, as well as the start/finish areas will take place in and around Cove Park in Wethersfield – adjacent to the Solomon Welles House.

Free parking is available at several locations near Cove Park DETAILS
  • Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles. Accessible via State Street.
    • Note: parking is limited, please arrive early to secure a spot in this lot.
  • Cove Park lot. Located at the northern end of Main Street.
    • Walk along the Cove Park trail to pre & post race area.
  • Hanmer Elementary School and the Wethersfield Board of Education. Accessible via Francis Street.

GIVE BACK:

RACE START:
The 10K and 5K will start in the same location on Hartford Avenue at 8:30 AM. Both races will run together for 2.4 miles. 

Self seed pace per mile signs will be located in the start corral area to assist with participant spacing prior to the start for the race. Timing mats located at the start will capture your net time.

RACE COURSE & SUPPORT:
Police and course monitors will be on the course. The roads are open to local vehicle travel. Road closures begin at 8:15 AM. DETAILS

MARKINGS:
  • Yellow signs with blue arrows mark all turns
  • All mile points are marked on the road and with signs
  • Clocks at finish line and along the course
AMENITIES:
  • Hydration (Water & Nuun Sport Lemon Lime flavor): Pre & Post Race / Mile 1.5, Mile 2.8, & Mile 4.5. Participants are encouraged to carry their own fluids

Please do not litter on the beautiful course! 


The course limit is 1 hour and 25 minutes for the Old Wethersfield 10K. To finish within these time limits you must maintain a pace of approximately 13:30 minutes per mile. 10K runners must pass the checkpoint at the 2.4 mile mark within 34 minutes. Runners over this time will be directed to finish the 5K course. 

POST RACE:
8:45 AM – 10:30 AM: Cove Park, Wethersfield
Celebrate your amazing accomplishments together with music, bagels from Between Rounds in South Windsor, fresh fruit and grab & go snacks including Bakery On Main granola and LesserEvil popcorn.

9:45 AM: Award Ceremony

TIMING / RESULTS / AWARDS:
This event is timed by Bay State Race Services and uses the B-Tag timing system (timing chip is attached to the back of the race bib). Please wear the race bib on the front of the shirt. All times are based on NET time (timing mats located at the start and finish).

Preliminary results will be available onsite. Final results will be posted later in the day. RESULTS

HMF FITKIDS RUN:
Online registration available through race morning. On-site kids' race registration and bib pickup opens at 7:00 AM at the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent. Kids aged 2-11 can run ¼ mile, ½ mile or 1 mile. All kids races are $12. FitKids races start and finish in Cove Park, adjacent to the post-race area.  All kids receive custom race swag and a finisher medal.

CHARITY SUPPORT:
Run to support Connecticut Children's Alliance in their mission to avail comprehensive statewide services to all child abuse victims and their families through collaboration, systemic change, public awareness, prevention, education, training, and advocacy. DETAILS
