Thank you for participating with us this Saturday, May 9, at THE CT RACE IN THE PARK in New Britain. Please review important details below on everything needed, from logistics to perks, to make it a great race day.  

8:30 AM: Kids Fun Runs (1 Mile / Age Races)
 9:15 AM: 5K Run
 10:30 AM: 1 Mile Walk & 4K Walk

If you registered on or before May 3, your race bib was mailed to you the week of May 4 in a business sized envelope. Only go to the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent starting at 6:30 AM on race day if you did not receive your bib or if you have questions.

If you registered after May 3, pick up your race bib at the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent starting at 6:30 AM. Speed up your bib pick-up experience - log in to your haku participant account and download or print your own unique Check-in Pass before you get in line. The pass can be saved in your phone images or Apple Wallet. 
There is NO packet pickup on Friday!

Your “America 250” inspired Short Sleeve Cotton Race shirt can be picked up starting at 6:30 AM at the T-shirt tent. 

Pre/post race activities, as well as race start & finish will take place in and around Walnut Hill Park in New Britain. Directions

Participant parking is available at:
  • Courthouse (Linda Blogoslawski) Parking Garage - 25 Washington St, New Britain.
  • John N. Badolato Parking Garage - Liberty Square, New Britain.

SHUTTLE BUS TRANSPORTATION:

Shuttle bus transportation is provided compliments of First Student from the above mentioned parking garages to and from Walnut Hill Park for all registered participants. The shuttle bus transportation will drop off and pick up participants adjacent to the Walnut Hill Park Bandshell, on Grand Street.

  • 6:30 AM: Shuttle service begins
  • 1:00 PM: Shuttle service ends

Note: Carpooling encouraged. Use the garages above, parking at and around Walnut Hill Park is very limited. 

5K RUN: The 5K Run will start and finish on the west side of Walnut Hill Park under the finish truss. 5K COURSE MAP

4K & 1 MILE FAMILY WALK: The 4K & 1 Mile Family Walk will start and finish on the west side of Walnut Hill Park under the finish truss. 4K COURSE MAP

Note: No timing or awards for the 4K or 1 Mile Family Walk.

Police and course monitors will be on the course. However, the roads are open to local vehicle travel.

Markings & Amenities: 

  • Yellow signs with blue arrows mark all turns
  • All mile points are marked on the road and with signs
  • Clocks at finish line and along the course
  • Hydration (Water) - Pre/Post Race & Mile 1.5
  • Medical personnel on site
  • Event alert system notifications in the pre-race area and at the water station

Respect the roads and each other, and please do not litter in the gracious community hosting us. 

7:45 AM: Survivor Breakfast
8:00 AM: 
  • Silent Auction/Raffle Tent Open
  • Food Trucks Open
  • Touch A Truck Open
  • Merchandise Tent Open
  • Build in the Park Open
10:00 AM: Beer Garden Opens
10:00 AM: 5K Awards Ceremony at the Results Tent.

Preliminary results are available onsite/online in real time and are based on NET time (timing mats at the start and finish) by Bay State Race Services using the B-Tag timing system. Please wear your race bib with timing chip on the front of your shirt. Final results will be posted later in the day. No timing or awards for the 4K or 1 Mile Family Walk. RESULTS
KIDS FUN RUNS
Online race registration for kids aged 0-12 is available through race morning, with on-site registration and bib pickup at the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent. All registered participants receive a cotton short sleeve shirt and an exclusive Kids Fun Run Finisher Medal.

All Kids Fun Runs will start and finish on the west side of Walnut Hill Park under the finish truss. Children should line up accordingly for the 1 Mile or the distance most appropriate to their age. 

Note: Kids Run Runs are not timed and no awards are presented in any of the Kids Fun Runs.
