HOW DO I USE MY CHECK-IN PASS? 1. Download, favorite this email or print your own unique Check-in Pass before you get in line. The pass can be downloaded and saved in your phone images, Apple Wallet, or printed out. 2. At Packet Pickup, show the QR code to the volunteer 3. The volunteer will scan it and assign you a bib 4. You're all set!

Important Notes About Picking Up Your Race Bib
Bib numbers must be picked up in person by the participant or a friend. You must show a photo ID matching the registered participant name to claim your race bib. You may pick up for another participant, but you must show a copy of their ID (e.g. photo on your phone, text of ID from person).

*Race morning packet pick-up is available starting at 6:00AM for a $5 event day pick-up fee. It will be located near the start line in front of the Air & Space Museum. However, it is HIGHLY encouraged to come Thursday or Friday to avoid delays or issues during the pick-up process.
Early packet pick-up is also free :) | | RACE START TIME: 7:00AM
COURSE: Check out the course map featuring multiple bridge crossings, passing by the famous San Diego Zoo, exploring the trails and more!
PARKING: Parking is free! There are three parking lots near the start line at the Air & Space Museum:
START LINE CORRALS: This race is chip-timed and we will have numerous, self selected waves. So if you want a little more space and distance from neighboring participants, you don't need to start up front! Your time will not begin until you cross the start line mat. *Important: The start line closes at 7:10AM. All participants must be in the start corral before 7:10AM. If you are not at the start line by 7:10AM, unfortunately you may not participate in the race. Please be on time - we want you to race!
COURSE TIME LIMIT: The course limit is 2 hours, so all runners must maintain a pace of 15 minutes per mile or faster. The course will be cut off at miles 3.75 and and 5.75. If you are above 15 minute per mile pace you will be directed off the course and back to the finish line. If you get re-directed, you will still receive a finisher medal at the finish line!
GEAR CHECK: Gear Check will be available at the Start Line in the Air & Space Museum Parking Lot. Please bring your gear ready in a sealable bag (e.g zipper, draw-string) to check. San Diego Track Club is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Bags may be claimed after your race from the Gear Check tent at the finish line until 10:00AM. Items left at the start line, on the course, or not claimed on race day will be donated. If you must discard any clothing during the event, we ask that you only do so at water stations. Note: these items will also be donated.
COURSE SUPPORT & MEDICAL
We're excited to have Vitalyte join us as our electrolyte partner in 2024! Did you know the founder of Vitalyte, Bill Gookin, is also the founder of the Balboa Park 8 Miler?! The following aid will be available on course:

Remember to fuel up on water on Thursday and Friday before race day in case it's a warm and humid one!
MEDICAL SUPPORT: If you experience a medical problem on course, go to the nearest aid station where a medical representative will be called to assist you. If you are unable to finish the race, we will provide transportation for you back to the finish line medical area. We have medical support on course in multiple locations and the finish line.
| | RACE RESULTS: Race Results will be live and available immediately after you cross the finish line. You will look up your race results after the run from the race website or scanning the QR code on your bib. You can also CLICK HERE.
AWARDS: All 8 Miler participants will receive a finisher's medal at the finish line!
The Awards Ceremony will take place at 9:10AM near the finish line in the Air & Space Museum Parking Lot. Special awards will be given to the following top finishers: |

Awards will not be mailed out after the event. Please pick up on-site on race day.
RACE PHOTOS: Race photos will be taken along the course! You will receive an e-mail with a link to these photos within a few days after the event. These complimentary photos will be FREE for you to download and share! That's right...we said free! Don't forget to tag #balboapark8miler #sandiegotrackclub when you share them!
