Thank you for participating with us this Saturday, April 25, at the Mahoney Sabol 5K at the Traveler's Championship. Please review important details below on everything needed, from logistics to perks, to make it a great race day.

Pick up your race bib at the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at First Tee - Connecticut at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell.

To speed up your bib pick-up experience, log in to your haku participant account and download or print your own unique Check-in Pass before you get in line. The pass can be downloaded and saved in your phone images or Apple Wallet, or printed out. 
Your participant shirt will be available for pick up at the Shirt tent before or after the event.
Please note: No baggage check available on race day.

Pre/post race activities, as well as race start and finish will take place adjacent to the First Tee of Connecticut, located at the TPC River Highlands, 55 Golf Club Road, Cromwell. Directions

There is plenty of parking at First Tee. Please follow the designated parking signs to enter via Travelers Championship Drive or Golf Club Road, from Main Street. 

The 5K will start in the same location as the Fitness Walk, directly in front of the First Tee building, and will consist of one corral with “Self Seed” pace per mile signs to assist with participant spacing. Both the Fitness Walk and 5K will travel together for the first 0.5 miles.

All 5K participants should line up in the front, ahead of the Fitness Walkers. 

Police and course monitors will be on the course. However, the roads are open to local vehicle travel.

Markings & Amenities: 

  • Yellow signs with blue arrows mark all turns
  • All mile points are marked on the road and with signs
  • Clocks at finish line and along the course
  • Hydration (water) - Pre/Post Race & Mile 1.2 (5K course)
  • Medical personnel on site
  • Event alert system notifications in the pre-race area and at the water station

Both the 5K and the Fitness Walk courses have a limit of 1 hour and 20 minutes.

This charity partner race benefits the Hospital for Special Care Neuromuscular Care Center, the largest of its type in Connecticut treating all levels of neuromuscular diseases including ALS (of which HFSC is a center of excellence), Parkinson’s, neuropathy and movement disorders including MD and other general neuromuscular disorders. LEARN MORE

11:15 – 12:30 AM: Registered participants enjoy the “best post-race food spread in Connecticut” featuring: Indulge By Palazzo, Blue Chip Creamery, Crispy Melty, Cool Bri’s Smoothies and New England Coffee Guy. Participants 21+ with ID will receive one ice cold beer compliments of Two Roads Brewing. 

Approx. 12:00 PM: Awards Ceremony 

Preliminary results are available onsite/online in real time and are based on NET time (timing mats at the start and finish) by Bay State Race Services using the B-Tag timing system. Please wear your race bib with timing chip on the front of your shirt. Final results will be posted later in the day. RESULTS

KIDS FUN RUN
FREE IN 2026! Due to the generous support from MahoneySabol, the Kids Fun Run, with options of ½ mile or 1-mile, will be free for all participants (ages 2-11). Online kids' race registration is available through race morning, with on-site registration and bib pickup at the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent. Parents/escorts accompanying their children may also run for free. Parent/guardian must sign a waiver during the registration process for children to participate. All participants receive a finisher’s medal and custom t-shirt.

The start and finish are located under the 5K start/finish truss, adjacent to the First Tee Building.
