LAST MINUTE RACE INFORMATION  

  • NEWSLETTERS: If you haven't yet, please read all of our past newsletters. They contain vital information about various elements of the event weekend and race. CLICK HERE 
  • VIDEOS: Please view our short informational videos online. These are extremely helpful and offer some great insider tips for the race. CLICK HERE *Please note the timing for certain events have been modified, so please refer to the schedule HERE  
  • PRO PANEL + INFO SESSION: If you are new to this race or have some burning questions, please remember to join the race team and Pro athletes including Olivia Dietzel, Danielle Lewis, Vittoria Lopes, Eric Lagerstrom, Brent McMahon and Marc Dubrick at Sports Basement Presidio for the Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon Race Tips and Pro Panel on Friday, June 9 from 5:30 - 7:00PM (Sports Basement Presidio, 610 Old Mason Street).   
  • PACKET PICK-UP: Packet pick-up is from 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM Saturday at Marina Green. Each individual including each member of relay teams must pick up his or her own packet. This is a USAT rule.*Please note that from 11 am - 3 pm is the busiest packet pick-up time. Remember that you will have the option to rack your bike on Saturday from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm.  
  • EVENT PARKING: Paid parking is available at the Palace of Fine Arts parking lot. Parking at this location is available all day first come, first served. The parking area is monitored by security. For safety, please do not leave any valuables in the car. 
    • After you park, there is a 15-minute walk down Girard Rd and up Marina Blvd to the transition and finish line areasPlease look for the parking signage which will be at this location.

  • ATHLETE MEETINGS: Each participant MUST attend at least one mandatory athlete meeting. These take place at 12:30 PM and 3:30 PM at the OOFOS Awards Stage at Marina Green. 
  • SWIM EXIT BAG: We will collect your SWIM EXIT bag on Saturday during packet pick-up. Please bring a secondary pair of running shoes, a small towel, and any other small item(s) you may want for the 1/2 mile run from the swim exit to transition.  We will provide the bag for these items during packet pick up. 
  • SHUTTLES: You will set up your transition area on Sunday morning from 4 AM to 5:45 AM. Shuttles will depart during this time for Pier 3 where you will board the boat for the swim.  The last shuttle will leave at 5:45 AM even if you are standing just 5 feet from it. If you are not on the shuttle by 5:45 AM, you will be left behind. There are no refunds for missing the shuttle. There will be a shuttle transporting athletes from North Point St. and Columbus Ave. Near Hotel Caza to Marina Green from 4:00 AM to 5:15 AM.  
  • BOAT: The boat will depart from Pier 3 at exactly 6:15 AM. If you are not on board by 6:15 AM, you will be left behind. There are no refunds for those who miss the boat 
  • RESTROOMS: There will be portable toilets at Pier 3. 
  • START: The race will start at 7:15 AM. All participants will exit the boat in 6-7 minutes. Be ready to jump! 
  • SWIM: If you need assistance on the swim and take a minute to hold on to a kayak, there is no penalty. If you are re-positioned by our race staff or swim safety personnel, there is no penalty.  If you do NOT listen to race staff and swim safety personnel, you will be disqualified. 
  • SWIM CUT-OFF: The swim cut-off is 1 hour. If you do not make the swim cut-off, you will be picked up and assisted to 200 yards off-shore where you will be allowed to finish the race without penalty. You will NOT be considered a DNF and be allowed to continue the race. 
  • TRANSITION: Be mindful in transition and on the bike course of your fellow participants, of non-participants enjoying the Sunday morning, and of your volunteers. This race is for all to have a great time so let's help make that happen for everyone involved. 
  • RUN: The run course has some narrow two-way sections. There will be Aid Stations along the run course with Arrowhead water and PRIME's Blue Raspberry Hydration drink. 
  • FINISH: When you finish, you will receive a finisher's medal, Prime Hydration drink and Arrowhead Spring Water, return your timing chip and move into the Athlete Pavilion. Here you will find medical assistance, massage therapy, changing tents, and a hearty post-race meal. Please enjoy as you will have earned it! 
  • LIVE TRACKING + RESULTS: LIVE Athlete Tracking is available on the Event App (iOS / Android) . Race results will be available on our website, the event app, and at the digital results zone located in the Fitness Festival.
