Thank you for participating with us this Saturday, March 7, at the O'Shenanigans 5K 
in Southington. Please review important details below on everything you need to know, from logistics to perks, to make it a great race day.  Note, registration is closed, race is at capacity.

9:30 AM: HMF FitKids start
10:00 AM: 5K start

Pick up your race bib at the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent between 8:30 - 9:30 AM. Speed up your bib pick-up experience - log in to your haku participant account and download or print your own unique Check-in Pass before you get in line. The pass can be saved in your phone images or Apple Wallet. 
Your St. Paddy's themed knit gloves will be available at the Swag tent before or after the event. Please note, there is no baggage check.
The race starts and finishes outside Kinsmen Brewing Company, 409 Canal St, Milldale, CT 06467. Directions

Car pool if possible and arrive early, parking will be more limited than in previous years. Please adhere to posted parking restrictions. As the following designated parking areas fill, volunteers and staff will direct you to other available options:
  • Kinsmen Brewing Company (409 Canal Street, Milldale, CT 06467) - No exit will be permitted from this lot before 11:00 AM.
  • St. Aloysius Church (254 Burritt Street, Plantsville, CT 06479) – approx. 5 minute walk to the start, fewer spaces will be available due to a church event.
  • AMC Southington 12 Theatre (1821 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, Southington, CT 06489) – approx. 10 minute walk to the start, please plan accordingly and park in the rear lot of the movie theater, as directed by volunteers.
The race start will be on Canal Street, just south of Kinsmen, with one corral of "Self Seed" pace per mile signs to assist with participant spacing.

Police and course monitors will be on the course. However, the roads are open to local vehicle travel.

Markings & Amenities: 

  • Yellow signs with blue arrows mark all turns
  • All mile points are marked on the road and with signs
  • Clocks at finish line and along the course
  • Hydration - Pre/Post Race & Mile 1.5
  • Medical personnel on site
  • Event alert system notifications in the pre-race area and at the water station

Walkers welcome! Course limit is 1 hour and 20 minutes. To finish within these time limits you must maintain a pace of approximately 27 minutes per mile.

Please bring nonperishable food donations to the HMF Can tent to benefit Southington Bread For Life. HMF Can is supported by Stop & Shop to help alleviate food insecurity in communities. Donors can enter to win a free upgrade to Milestone+ membership for 2026 ($50 value).

10:15 – 11:30 AM: Registered participants enjoy fresh pizza from the kitchen at Sauced, fresh fruit and snacks, including Uncle Crumbles Granola and Lesser Evil. One complimentary Kinsmen Brewing craft beer for those 21+ years of age with proper ID available inside.
Approx. 11:00 AM: Awards ceremony and raffle winner pick-up outside at the Awards tent.

Don't forget the costume contest! The winning costume will be selected at random and announced at race start, prize collection will be at the Awards tent after the race.
Join the 2026 HMF Milestone member for rewards and perks! 
Sign up for free before/on race day and if you have a January, February or March birthday, you can pick up your birthday bonus in the HMF Can tent before the race or Awards tent post-race.
Preliminary results are available onsite/online in real time and are based on NET time (timing mats at the start and finish) by Bay State Race Services using the B-Tag timing system. Please wear your race bib with timing chip on the front of your shirt. Final results will be posted later in the day. RESULTS
Custom hoodies and adult/youth tees are available at the HMF Merchandise tent on race day (credit cards or Apple Pay only, no cash accepted). Preorders may also be picked up.
Online kids' race registration is available through race morning, with on-site registration and bib pickup at the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent. Kids aged 2-11 can run ¼ mile or ½ mile races, all kids races are $12. All participants receive a finisher's medal and a beanie hat. 

All HMF FitKids Runs will start and finish on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail, behind Kinsmen Brewing.
Add just one more March O'race to join the Li'l Lucky two-race challenge for the rainbow medal. Or, take on all four in the Lucky Challenge over two weekends and get the medallion medal too. Participants can pick up medal(s) in the Merchandise tent at any O'race.
HMF emergency texting is used ONLY in situations such as event delays, cancellations or last-minute event changes to relay pertinent details. We never use this for marketing or solicitation. Confirm you elect to receive emergency text messages in your haku profile: once logged in to your account, select "Your Events" and check the box "I Want To Get Event Updates Via Text".
